Religious Educaton Begins September 8th. A pancake breakfast will be hosted by St. Anthony & St Ann's groups for all CCD students, catechists, and all parishioners. An important meeting for parents of CCD students will be held folowing the pancake breakfast.
“Catholic Life and St Anthony’s is trying to help The Harper Help Center restock their shelves after the Thanksgiving/Christmas season. For the next 3 weekends please bring non perishable food items to Mass and put them in the boxes provided in the foyer. The items most needed are: toilet paper, liquid dish soap, canned meat products, creamy peanut butter, dry pinto beans, rice, macaroni (any variety), canned vegetables, and canned fruit. Let’s fill up their shelves. Thanks for your support for the Help Center.” COLLECTIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11th.
Catholic Life Insurance Branch 75 and the St Anthony Society awarded a scholarship to Kase Kramer, who was not present at the awards ceremony. Present, in the photo, were Talli Millican, Bryn Wehmeyer, Kenna Tatsch, and Zane Schubert, who received scholarships from the St Anthony parish. Presenting the awards were Mary Krebs, Parish Council President, and Roy Kasper, President of the Harper branch of Catholic Life Insurance.
A BBQ meal was served, and attended by some 50-60 parishioners & family members to celebrate the 25 years of service to the Church as Deacon, and most all of it right here at St Anthony's. Today's Spotlight shines on Molly Vehle! Molly will be celebrating her 101st birthday on November 15. She has lived in Harper for 22 years, and has so much love for St Anthony Church and all the people here.
Friday, May 13,the group of volunteers gathered at A A Gitter Hall to celebrate a successful and rewarding year providing religious education for the parish youth! Be sure to thank them, and consider this ministry yourself. They seem to have enjoyed it!
Sunday, July 4, St Anthony's held an appreciation dinner for those who helped make the recent Mother's Day Fish Fry & Raffle a record breaking success. During the event, $6000 was given ($2000 each) to three local civic organizations of Harper. On hand to receive the checks were John Paul Fogle-Harper Park Association, Geraldine Skipper-Harper Help Center, and Katherine Kuhlmann-Harper VFD. Representing St Anthony's was Mary Krebs-St Ann's Society and Tommy Leyendecker-St Anthony's Society.
